What Does a Dragonfly Symbolize?

The dragonfly has a very personal meaning for me.

There was a Saturday morning in my own life when I knew it was time to make a decision I had been afraid to make for a very long time.

I left with my children and started over.

I don't share that because my story is more important than anyone else's. I share it because I know I'm not the only woman who has had a moment when staying where she was became harder than stepping into the unknown.

The fear leading up to that moment can be enormous.

But sometimes the life waiting on the other side is bigger than you ever imagined.

Mine was.

I rebuilt. I rediscovered parts of myself I had forgotten. I eventually left a career I'd had for 25 years and started Emerald Street Designs.

My life didn't simply go back to what it had been.

It became something new.

That's my dragonfly story.
